I am a national spokesman for Tesla Takedown, and I am an organizer of ICE OUT protests and other rallies in the Burbank area.&nbsp;</h3> I grew up in Austin, TX - but this was the Blue Texas of Democratic legends like Ann Richards, Barbara Jordan, and Lloyd Bentsen. Everything seemed right in the world. Local politics were king in Austin, though over time national politics became my passion. Filmmaking was a larger passion, and I graduated from Northwestern University with majors in Film &amp; Anthropology. After working in the Chicago film production scene, I ended up at Industrial Light &amp; Magic in the Bay Area, and then came to LA in 2000.&nbsp; I lead the life of a Emmy Award-winning commercial director/VFX &amp; Motion Graphics Creative Director, and earned the privilege to be in the Director’s Guild of America. I am excited to translate my leadership skills - from working with multiple creative teams at once - to the halls of Congress! Every step of the way, I stayed engaged in politics by making political videos on a variety of issues and advocacy. I began my volunteer work with California Clean Money Campaign (led by Trent Lange) on the issue of Publicly Financed Elections. The dryness of this issue is inversely proportional to its importance for our democracy!After the 2022 Uvalde shooting tragedy, I had enough of gun violence and the seeming lack of progress with our lawmakers. I created <a href="https://namethemtoshamethem.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">NameThemToShameThem.com</a>, an anti-gun violence campaign designed to go around the NRA and directly at the Gun &amp; Ammo Manufacturers.&nbsp; This has led to collaboration with <a href="https://hopeandhealfund.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">hopeandhealfund.org</a> and outreach with <a href="https://giffords.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Giffords.org</a>.I am a believer in universal healthcare. In the meantime we could immediately strengthen Obamacare!&nbsp;10 years ago I started <a href="https://easyfixobamacare.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">EasyFixObamacare.com</a> - outlining simple solutions that are easy to talk about.&nbsp; People should know where Democrats stand - with easy to remember messaging.I’ve been a Burbank resident for 18 years, raising both kids here their entire lives. One of my proudest moments was taking my kids to go canvassing in the 2018 midterms. And we won! I’ve coached both kids in sports their whole lives as well. In addition to being a political junkie, I’m also an NBA fanatic and would be happy to discuss the benefits of a Horns vs. Triangle offense.

GUN VIOLENCE

Reproductive Rights are rights are human rights. We should use strategic lawsuits aimed at clarifying the 14th Amendment: people do not lose rights of autonomy when they become pregnant.

To those who say "but we don't have the votes", I would respond "then why be in Congress? Why show up for any other legislation efforts?" Imagine if every Democrat stood on the steps of the Capitol holding Articles of Impeachment? That is fight, that is seizing the narrative.We the people are enraged at the fecklessness of Democrats. Impeach Trump, Noem, Hegseth, Bondi, and RFK Jr.

Money is not speech. Money is not virtue. Money is property, not votes. We must overturn Citizens United.I am a strong advocate for Publicly Financed Elections - it increases diversity and accountability of candidates. They will serve their constituents, not their donors!

Remember after the George Floyd protests - we were finally going to repair criminal justice and policing? Let's get back to that! Transition non-violent offenders to treatment, reduce our record setting numbers of incarcerated, and make policing more about safety.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE

I generally prescribe to "mend it, don't end it". But this relatively new agency is the exception to prove the rule. ICE has been commandeered into Trump's personal lawless Gestapo. Much of DHS should be reformed as well.

ABOLISH ICE

Make all forms of post-high school education more available and affordable to all. This includes alleviating the debt of existing graduates who suffered through the broken finance system.

COLLEGE &amp; TRADE SCHOOLS

We should regulate Social Media like... media! There are many protections that should have been legislated 10 years ago.As for AI — there are available protections that don't require us to know the coding of LLM's. We shouldn’t surrender our livelihoods to 8 billionaires with a God Complex. Regulation and oversight are essential to protect both workers and users.

SOCIAL MEDIA &amp; AI

This all-consuming buzzword covers everything from childcare to healthcare to education and housing. The simplest solution is to swing the dial on tax code back in the direction to when America had the strongest Middle Class. Many other solutions are actionable - now.

AFFORDABILITY

Nothing is more Pro-Family than expanded childcare. We need free childcare for all kids under 5, and we must raise the pay of childcare workers. This will help both parents and the bottom line of the businesses they work for.

CHILDCARE

I will fight for Universal Healthcare - but in the meantime we can legislate upgrades to Obamacare - NOW. I call it the P.O.P.S. fixes:Public Option. Prescription. Subsidies.Thousands of lives could be saved, now, with these fixes. HEALTHCARE

Aggressively expand energy/renewable programs, while helping the transition for all workers from old technologies. Green = Jobs!Aggressively enforce environmental protections, and prosecute companies that are breaking the law.

CLIMATE CRISIS

District 30 has a large and proud Armenian population. I support Genocide recognition, Armenian-American rights, regional security in Artsakh/Armenia, and the release of Armenian prisoners of war. I oppose Azerbaijani aggression.Ազատ, անկախ Հայաստան

The perils of AI, streaming, and global competition are real. As a union member in the industry, I will help our community navigate the changing paradigm. And fight to bring the work back home to the most skilled artists and crews in the world.

LA FILM INDUSTRY

Our country has made progress in the opioid crisis, but more work remains to be done. The rise of synthetic drugs is a scourge, and should be treated both as a criminal and medical crisis.

OPIOIDS &amp; FENTANYL

Encourage federal funding of state and local programs, while ensuring oversight and accountability. This allows localities to prioritize approaches per region, as the solutions for the unhoused population are layered and interdependent.

UNHOUSED

Reclaim Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act from all the MAGA recissions.And for Pete's sake, streamline construction so that every project is shovel ready immediately!

INFRASTRUCTURE

Efforts to pass comprehensive Immigration reform have failed in 2013 and 2023. No more. While securing our border with new technology, we must increase budget for due process, and streamline pathway to citizenship for Dreamers.

A bold partnership of public/private sectors can build many new homes by eliminating red tape and expanding transit hubs. This can be done with inclusionary zoning while protecting worker's rights and neighborhood integrity.

We must fully fund these programs, and expand the Medicare age range to cover more people into this already efficient program.
