I am a national spokesman for Tesla Takedown, and I am an organizer of ICE OUT protests and other rallies in the Burbank area.&nbsp;</h3> I grew up in Austin, TX - but this was the Blue Texas of Democratic legends like Ann Richards, Barbara Jordan, and Lloyd Bentsen. Everything seemed right in the world. Local politics were king in Austin, though over time national politics became my passion. Filmmaking was a larger passion, and I graduated from Northwestern University with majors in Film &amp; Anthropology. After working in the Chicago film production scene, I ended up at Industrial Light &amp; Magic in the Bay Area, and then came to LA in 2000.&nbsp; I lead the life of a Emmy Award-winning commercial director/VFX &amp; Motion Graphics Creative Director, and earned the privilege to be in the Director’s Guild of America. I am excited to translate my leadership skills - from working with multiple creative teams at once - to the halls of Congress! Every step of the way, I stayed engaged in politics by making political videos on a variety of issues and advocacy. I began my volunteer work with California Clean Money Campaign (led by Trent Lange) on the issue of Publicly Financed Elections. The dryness of this issue is inversely proportional to its importance for our democracy!After the 2022 Uvalde shooting tragedy, I had enough of gun violence and the seeming lack of progress with our lawmakers. I created <a href="https://namethemtoshamethem.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">NameThemToShameThem.com</a>, an anti-gun violence campaign designed to go around the NRA and directly at the Gun &amp; Ammo Manufacturers.&nbsp; This has led to collaboration with <a href="https://hopeandhealfund.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">hopeandhealfund.org</a> and outreach with <a href="https://giffords.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Giffords.org</a>.I am a believer in universal healthcare. In the meantime we could immediately strengthen Obamacare!&nbsp;10 years ago I started <a href="https://easyfixobamacare.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="color: var(--color-text-accent-primary); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text-accent-primary);">EasyFixObamacare.com</a> - outlining simple solutions that are easy to talk about.&nbsp; People should know where Democrats stand - with easy to remember messaging.I’ve been a Burbank resident for 18 years, raising both kids here their entire lives. One of my proudest moments was taking my kids to go canvassing in the 2018 midterms. And we won! I’ve coached both kids in sports their whole lives as well. In addition to being a political junkie, I’m also an NBA fanatic and would be happy to discuss the benefits of a Horns vs. Triangle offense.

GUN VIOLENCE

Reproductive Rights are rights are human rights. We should use strategic lawsuits aimed at clarifying the 14th Amendment: people do not lose rights of autonomy when they become pregnant.

REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS

To those who say "but we don't have the votes", I would respond "then why be in Congress? Why show up for any other legislation efforts?" Imagine if every Democrat stood on the steps of the Capitol holding Articles of Impeachment? That is unity, that is fight, that is seizing the narrative.I will invoke Rule IX, which requires an automatic vote on Impeachment. The Speaker cannot stop it. I will hold this vote every day, because the opposite is feckless silence. How many more illegal acts does DJ Trump need to do?We the people are enraged at the fecklessness of Democrats. Impeach Trump, Hegseth, and RFK Jr.

IMPEACH

Netanyahu is a corrupt war criminal, and has been for decades before the current conflict. What is happening in Gaza are heinous war crimes. Let us not also forget the West Bank, where there have been illegal incursions for years. And now the recent destruction in Lebanon. Israel has a right to defend itself, but Bibi is out of control, using violence and carnage to hold onto power, lest he go to prison for corruption inside his own country. The destruction of Gaza should land many Israeli leaders in the Hague. I support the Block the Bombs Act Bill H.R.3565, and we should simply be enforcing the Leahy Amendment, which withholds military funds from countries that don't support our values.Israel may be winning the short term military battle, but the long term damage for Israel's stature in the world is disastrous. The Iran War is illegal, and never would have happened had Trump not scrapped the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Now, we'll be lucky to get back to that point. No war has been won by military air action alone. America, and the world, are just beginning to suffer the ripple effects of this quagmire.

The Los Angeles film production industry has been in decline, not just since COVID but especially in the last few years. The main reason is it became too expensive to shoot in LA. We’re now battling other states and other countries for a piece of the production pie. LA’s vast community of the creative working class are really struggling. Generations have built their lives here, and this includes secondary industries like caterers and hotels.&nbsp; But LA has woken up. There is legislation at the federal level to create tax incentives to bring production back in-country, which are stacked with state and local incentives. When I’m in Congress, i’ll work to increase those incentives.Other solutions are being enacted locally, like reduction of permitting and red tape that will reduce costly fees and help production move more quickly. There are more challenges are around the corner, like AI and consolidation. I would oppose the illegal merger of Paramount and Warner Brothers. And I will fight to bring Star Grants to LA, which will help the creative working class to ride out the bumpy road ahead, by way of job training and job placement in other industries that match our existing skillsets. I will use my role in Congress to fight for the urgency of these issues, if we’re going to have a chance to rebound even stronger.

LA FILM INDUSTRY

Our country has made progress in the opioid crisis, but more work remains to be done. The rise of synthetic drugs is a scourge, and should be treated both as a criminal and medical crisis.

OPIOIDS &amp; FENTANYL

Encourage federal funding of state and local programs, while ensuring oversight and accountability. This allows localities to prioritize approaches per region, as the solutions for the unhoused population are layered and interdependent.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Efforts to pass comprehensive Immigration reform have failed in 2013 and 2023. No more. While securing our border with new technology, we must increase budget for due process, and streamline pathway to citizenship for Dreamers.

Immigration is a multilayered issue that needs more than one priority fix. It requires a comprehensive approach, which is what almost happened in 2013 and again in 2024 before Republicans killed both efforts. FiWe also need to reimagine Immigration enforcement outside of DHS, the agency that protects us from terrorism. America needs to fund many more immigration courts, we need to develop a seasonal documented worker program, we need to complete the legalization of DACA/Dreamers, we need to enhance high tech screening at the borders, and we need a humane and fair process to give citizenship to immigrants who have been here a long time and have been law-abiding valued members of their communities.
